Global climate change is an issue many places all over the planet battle with, including our daily routines. Regardless of whether global climate change is noticed, global climate change influences humans every day for a variety of reasons. Many people hear the phrase climate change and automatically assume that it is the same concept as global warming. Subsequently, global warming is the rise in temperatures due to greenhouse gasses while climate change refers to the increasing changes in climate including matters such as precipitation, wind patterns, and at times, temperature. Therefore, the U.S should do more to prevent global climate change to restore nature, not put others in danger, and assist the future of humans all around the world.

The U.S. should do more to prevent global climate change to repair nature. For instance, because of global warming and global climate change, many animals have been unable to adapt to natural disasters- such as extreme temperatures, no shelter, or even loss of habitats. Since these animals are unable to adapt, this has led to extinction in many areas. According to Gale, “some species are in danger of extinction because of the effects of global warming...many of those species…have already been impacted” (Global Warming, Gale). Additionally, in an article describing renewable sources, Nevada had recently surpassed a bill increasing the “amount of electricity it gets from renewable sources to 50% by 2030” (Green). The following quote, therefore, demonstrates what the U.S has done so far to prevent global climate change, but also, the U.S’s efforts to restore nature. Due to global climate change impacting animals, leading to extinction, if the U.S. could do more to prevent it, then not only animals but nature as well would be restored, not only helping the current generation but also helping future generations as well.

Additionally, the U.S. could also do more to not put others in danger. In a poll on Americans’ opinions on global climate change, “40% [of Americans] said that global climate change was a major threat to the United States” (CNN Wire). Thus, this is demonstrating that Americans are taking global climate change as a threat, and are showing that they are afraid of the causes and harm that it can cause. Consequently, an article including the U.S. and China stated, “the overwhelming scientific consensus on climate change and its worsening impacts…the United States and China apprehend the urgent need for action” (UPI Newstrack). The following quote conveys that the United States and China both recognize the need for action on the take of global climate change, both countries have taken it as a threat and believe in the good of the country as a whole. If the country’s leaders have stated action, they have taken action for a reason- to protect the people and nation as a whole. On that account, this suggests that the idea and opinion on climate change are being considered to be a “threat”, so, if the issue is at the point where climate change is a threat, that means it is putting people in danger, while if the U.S. could try to do more to prevent it, it would not be as much as a major issue anymore.

Then again, many people would think that the issue of global climate change is not as significant as other worldwide topics. Those who differ would say “Americans were far less likely to name global climate change as a major risk to their country compared to international counterparts” (CNN Wire). This shows that people globally have not labeled climate change as a major issue. However, articles have shown that “climate change exists and is driven by the increase in burning fossil fuels” (UPI Newstrack). Additionally, according to USA Today, “within hours, water that started as puddles around storm drains grew into a swiftly moving current that carried vehicles away” (USA Today). This shows that due to climate change causing various reactions in weather, vehicles are being carried away. So, due to the burning of fossil fuels, it does affect people, drastically.

Lastly, the U.S should do more to prevent global climate change to not put others in danger, restore nature, and to help future generations, because climate change affects us every day, noticed or not, and is a global issue many areas around the world struggle with. The United States and other countries should all come collectively and try to resolve this issue for the people, but also to bring the world together, as a community. Because overall, the world has many global problems, but it just takes one step at a time to create a safer environment for future generations.
