It has been a well-known issue for some time that people are upset with the current scheduling system. For years, people have found it frustrating and inconvenient at the timing and structure of the schedule. This memo is being put out to inform everyone that changes are being made to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of shift scheduling. 

The new system being put into place will have the following changes:

  1. Scheduling will now be structured to Monday through Sunday. 
  2. The shift schedule will now be posted in two-week intervals.
  3. All trading of shifts will have to be brought through management at least two days in advance in non-emergency cases.

The Monday through Sunday structure has been enacted to reflect the standard work week in many corporate entities. It is known that many employees have other jobs or have educational responsibilities. By adjusting the structure to follow these other responsibilities, it will be easier for employees to maintain their personal schedules.

Moving onto the adjustment of the schedule being posted in two-week intervals. Having a shift schedule posted in two-week intervals should also make it easier for everyone to maintain their personal schedules. This should also make it easier for people to notice any potential conflicts or issues. This will allow for everyone to have more time to make trades or contact management.

The last change put into effect is that all shift trades will absolutely have to be put in with a two-day advance notice. By having the two-day notice, management will be able to review any potential issues with the trade or see if there is another possible adjustment that can be made. This will offer more potential to have outcomes that benefit both the employee and the business.

These changes have been made to improve both the workplace and the personal lives of all employees.
