You may think you know everything about first responders, but their daily lives are far different then what you think they may be. First responders are unsung heroes, they are unsung heroes because they help people everyday without getting enough credit. An unsung hero is a job or specific person that does amazing things frequently but does not get credit for their actions.

First responders jobs and lives are more complex than you may think, First responders stop emergencies from progressing into more dire situations. First responders also transport injured patients to the hospital, burn centers, trauma centers, and many other places. There are many more types of first responders than you think, EMT’s, police officers, Fire Fighters, and Bomb Squads are only a few examples of first responders. EMT’s will always have ambulances 10 minutes away from any emergency call, which gives the victim a higher chance of survival.

One example of a first responder are firefighters. They risk their lives every day fighting fires in numerous locations, but they also do many other things than just fight fires, For example they rescue people trapped in various places such as cars, planes or trains after a crash. Firefighters help people seek safety during and after natural disasters such as tornadoes, hurricanes, and wildfires, even terrorist attacks and bombings, this all shows how much firefighters risk on the daily to help and save lives. 

Another example of a unsung first responders are police officers, they do many other things than arrest people, there are numerous strands of police officers, some include Search and Rescue teams, hostage negotiation teams, bomb squads and special weapons units are just a couple examples. Traffic police direct traffic during construction or public events, some officers are assigned on foot, in cars, or on motorcycles, they are called patrol officers, they carry radios to communicate with each other, Patrol officers carry cameras on their vest to record everything they do. Police officers enforce the law in many situations, including car crashes, shootings, bombings, terrorist attacks and many more situations. Police officers are unsung heroes and they need to be treated like them, they save lives and take bad ones off of the streets every day.

As you can see, first responders risk their lives everyday while doing their jobs. They are unsung heroes and they deserve much  more credit from the media than they get for their daily life saving and heroic actions.
