Dependence on Technology Essay Example

In my opinion, I believe that people depend too much on technology. Being dependent on technology is not a bad thing. In fact, I believe that it has helped make our lives as humans much easier. To begin with, it has helped us with our research. Secondly, we can read online instead of reading a physical book. Finally, we can use it to communicate with our friends and family. 

Back when technology was not as advanced, people had to research with the resources they had, which are books. Books are a great way to find out the information you need, but in today's modern society all you need to do is use Google to research. For example, there are many students who use books to research for their assignments and projects but the majority of them use google as a way to find out the information they are looking for. furthermore If I was curious about researching a specific topic such as an animal that I like, I can easily search on google to find more about that animal. 

It can be fun to read a novel under a blanket late at night. But when I'm going somewhere on a bus or in a car I can easily read my favorite novel on an ebook or play an audiobook on my phone without having to carry a heavy book in my bag.  For example, when I want to just relax without turning the pages of a physical book, I can easily just turn on an audio book or use an ebook which in my opinion makes reading more enjoyable for me.

Communicating with our family and friends has become a lot easier through the use of technology. Especially with family and friends who live in far away countries. With just a simple phone call or a facetime we can communicate with the ones we love. For example, I have friends and family who live far away in countries such as the United States and Germany but with just a simple phone call or face time I can easily talk and communicate with them.

Technology in today's modern society has come a long way and it has become a dependable and reliable tool  that we can always use when we want to read a digital book, research on a couple of topics and last but not least communicate with our family and friends. I believe that even though some people may view technology as a negative thing and think that it is ruining today's society, it is undeniable that technology has played a major role in how far the world has come. To conclude I believe that people depend too much on technology and that it's not a bad thing to depend on it.
