"Men of quality respect women’s equality," a quote cited by Jeremiah Say emphasizes the importance of equality between both genders. These days, people often suffer from various problems due to this issue that discriminates between men and women in different fields of life. However, the gender discrimination issue is the result of various factors that negatively impact both the individual and society and needs to be resolved as soon as possible.

To begin with, the widespread issue of inequality and unfairness between the sexes arises from a wide variety of causes that amplify the impacts of such a complication. First of all, illiteracy seems to be an obvious reason for gender discrimination to occur, especially among the elderly. To better illustrate, inequality is reflected most of the time at the educational level, where girls are prevented from pursuing their degrees or even entering elementary schools, especially among the older generations. This educational disparity was caused by the elderly's misunderstanding and lack of knowledge, who ignored the rights of the girl because they believed her main duty was to marry, give birth, and look after her family and children. Moreover, the health status of each gender might serve as a major cause of gender discrimination. To be more specific, several institutions or even organizations might prefer to employ men over women since women are subjected to more illnesses and fatigue during the work period, which might urge them to take days off, thus limiting their productivity. Many people also believe that men are more powerful than women, and they have numerous abilities to approach and tackle certain problems or even work using advanced technologies in certain factories. Finally, gender inequality appears to be most obvious in workplaces where women, if employed, get paid way less than men, since several managers consider women a weak workforce that is not able to perform all the required missions in the institution or requires a long time for the tasks to be completed. Thus, gender discrimination has diverse causes that aid in distinguishing men from women.

Moving on to the other aspect of gender inequality, this issue results in negative impacts on both the individual and society, which can be aggressive at most times. Starting with the first obvious impact, women will gradually lose their self-esteem as they are treated differently than men. For example, if women are paid less than men, even if they work in the same place and the same position, they will perceive themselves as weak or separated from men and, as a result, lose confidence in themselves. Furthermore, gender discrimination lowers society's economic level due to the high number of women planning to leave their careers, which leads to a sharp decrease in productivity in society as well as a shortage of employees in the concerned institution. In addition to that, this discrimination issue might cause various mental illnesses, especially at the level of females who are distinguished from males based on many criteria, as well as the increased probability for these females to socially isolate themselves from others at later stages just because they start to view themselves as inferior to men. Finally, sexual discrimination causes the educational level in society to gradually drop, since the percentages of females enrolled in schools will consequently decrease because of the mental illnesses of females due to this type of discrimination as well as their experience of isolation later. Therefore, gender discrimination generates numerous dangerous consequences that could sometimes be very aggressive.

Depending on what was studied before, the gender discrimination issue needs to be slowly limited to avoid its negative influence. This can be achieved by following different methods, such as fighting for females' rights, especially their right to be educated properly. To gain a better understanding, the government and all stakeholders must stand by these women's side and assist them in achieving their basic rights, thereby limiting child marriage, which previously prevented girls from pursuing their degrees. Also, women must be empowered in the workplace and their salaries must be reviewed so that they become like those of the males working in the same positions. Furthermore, wherever females are present, they must be praised for their fascinating role, encouraging them to keep going to achieve their goals while not segregating them from males. Thus, sexual inequality can be reduced or limited by following specific guidelines and tips that also help in reducing the negative impacts of such a widespread complication.

To conclude, gender discrimination is a global impediment that prevents women from achieving their goals and dreams by distinguishing them from men, resulting in a variety of consequences. However, such an issue can be tackled by applying different techniques to limit its impacts on both the individual and society. That's why all stakeholders are encouraged to stand by the women's side, helping them to accomplish their intentions regardless of their gender.
