Essay Sample on Knights vs. Samurai

The Samurai were superior because of their armor. The armor Samurai wore was made up of iron scales which were beneficial in combat. Samurai had no armor on their right arm for it to be more accessible to draw bows or weapons in battle (Document  D). This proves Samurai were superior because their armor was very easy to maneuver in, with designs that made their armor more accessible to draw weapons in combat. 

Samurai were also superior to knights because of the codes they used. Samurai followed the code of bushido, the code taught them that they should always stay loyal and protect their master while staying devoted to their duty (Document  E). This shows they were superior because the code of bushido had been around 130 years before the code of chivalry came out, and taught these warriors to always stay loyal no matter what the circumstances.

Lastly, Samurai were far more superior because of the training they went through. Samurai started their training at a very young age, the training they endured was so efficient that they could be declared Samurai at the age of 14. Samurai had to train not only physically but worked on knowledge also (Document  C). This proves that Samurai were superior because the training was much more efficient and quick, giving them more experience as a Samurai. They also had the advantage of being taught skills of knowledge instead of just physical training.

Although Knights did train for longer, Samurai had the advantage of being declared a warrior for a longer amount of time. Due to the codes they used, the armor they wore, and the training they endured, Samurai were far more superior warriors during the middle ages. This is important because without these brave warriors in medieval times, our history might not have been the same.
