Carbon emissions are at an all-time high these days mostly coming from factories but cars also have a big role in this because cars emit carbon monoxide when fuel is burned. Studies have shown that electric cars benefit the environment by reducing carbon emissions. Driving an electric car is better than driving a normal car in 95% of the world, studies found. EV’s also have a benefit on the environment by making the average lifetime emissions from electric cars to 70% lower than gas cars. 

Reusing lithium-ion battery’s also benefits the environment. The recycling of lithium-ion battery’s reduces energy consumption and greenhouse gases emissions. When dead batteries are thrown into the trash, they end up in landfills and corrode with the weather. The hazardous chemicals soak into the ground and eventually get into ground water or surface water. This can endanger the sea life. Some people may say that making electric cars is not benefiting the environment because generating electricity takes fossil fuels and making electricity makes more carbon monoxide. But many countries generate their electricity from renewables and nuclear and many other sources of energy.
