The drinking age should be lowered to 18 because you can vote at eighteen, buy tobacco, it’ll reduce the thrill of breaking the law.If teenagers that are now turning 18 can vote, then they should be able to drink at the age of 18. If teens are 18 and old enough to vote, they should be able to drink. Saying they can vote, is calling them responsible and mature enough to pretty much vote. And if you think about it anyone can be a drunk driver  it's not just teens there going to have to be rules.Like say you know an 18 year old is drinking you can get them something for the car that they can blow in to let them drive or not.Allowing 18- to 20-year-olds to drink alcohol in regulated environments with supervision would decrease unsafe drinking activity.

But for them to drink they have to be out of high school.Even though anybody can buy alcohol for someone under the age of 18 years old.Teens find it exciting to break the law. Once they start breaking the law, it’ll get them addicted to the thrill of breaking the law. They’re going to want to keep breaking the law just to be cool.

For example, why would you go through the trouble if your child drinks and gets caught because they’re not 21 yet, but are in college and over 18 and you have to bail them out? Therefore most college kids aren’t even 21 yet, but are still exposed to alcohol and drink. If the legal drinking age was lowered to 18, people wouldn’t have to jeopardize their futures by obtaining and using false identifications. In the United States, anyone can vote, risk their life to sign up for the U.S. military, sign contracts, be prosecuted as an adult and get themselves into irreparable debt at 18 years old

The United States is one of only 12 countries globally to have a minimum legal drinking age of 21 and is the only western nation to have such a restriction. An overwhelming number of 116 countries have a minimum legal drinking age of 18 or 19.Statistically, fewer drunk driving accidents and deaths occur in countries with a minimum legal drinking age of 18.According to the CDC, drinking below the age of 21 is linked with death from alcohol poisoning, car crashes, drowning, suicide, school performance problems, etc but that can happen anywhere to anybody and any place not because their underage. If students could buy their own drinks, underage drinkers would be less likely to try to have older people buy them drinks. But by not purchasing their own drinks, they become more vulnerable to having something placed in the drink. A lower drinking age would mean people would be able to casually order alcohol at meals and have experience with it instead of starting with binge-drinking.

If a person is old enough to have the responsibility of driving a car, they should be allowed to consume alcohol. While the legal drinking age is higher, people will have more dangerous drinking habits and experiences. Lowering the drinking age to 18 would allow 18-to-20-year-olds to consume alcohol safely in regulated environments, with supervision. Since the drinking age is 21, underage college students often consume alcohol in unsupervised spaces, such as house parties, where binge drinking and other drug use occurs.Whether or not the drinking age is lowered, it is still difficult for the government to enforce the legal drinking age.18 is the age of adulthood in the United States, and adults should have the right to make their own decisions about alcohol consumption.
