Personal Interests as Business Opportunities (Free Essay Sample)

As someone who has little knowledge about business but aspires to have her very own business in the future, it is difficult to find a place where to start. I’ve learned that considering your strengths and interests as a business opportunity is one way to establish a successful business. Before when I think of putting up a business, I’ve always told myself not to consider my hobbies and interests since I do not want to experience burnout and lose my passion for such. Through the webinar, I was inspired and encouraged to see what aspects of my hobbies and interests can be a business opportunity.

Putting up a business nowadays takes a lot of courage considering how huge the field of the business industry is and now that we are in the middle of a pandemic. However, when you put your heart and mind to it, it will be possible just like what Ms. Camille did. In business, everything must be built from scratch and we all must work our way up, meaning we must be fully committed. It is merely about creating and selling a product, the business does not stop there. You also need to take care of building trust with your customers as well as establishing a name for your brand. As the business goes on, circumstances are inevitable. It is important that we also need to prepare for such. I was enlightened on how Ms. Camille handled the difficulties they encountered. How she saw those to improve and used them as motivations. Another thing that amazed me is how they kept on finding ways to develop their business. The story of how they just started with cookies and then eventually ventured out with other food variations. For me, it was a huge risk for a business but they were able to do it and expand even more. When it comes to her business, you could really see her having an entrepreneurial mindset and how it has helped her become successful. Seeing how Ms. Camille enjoyed her passion and have a successful business was inspiring. 

If I were to start a business, considering that I am still a student and have no experience yet, I would also like to work as an employee first to know more about how to run a business. It is also a way to gain some capital to be used for the business. Just as I have mentioned, since the business industry is huge, I need to make sure that the business I will be establishing could stand out. I believe one way to do that is to make the business more of myself, like I’d like to incorporate my unique traits and interests, and make sure that the others would also enjoy them.
