Liberals vs.Conservatives Essay Example

Did you ever realize how Liberals and Conservatives are very different? Liberals believe that equality is important. Liberals are less likely than conservative to want to use the government's power to maintain order. Conservatives believe in order and want the government for other useful resources besides equality. They support the original purpose of government. In this paper, I will be talking about the differences between liberals and conservatives in government, economy and social status this shows how they divide people in our society.  

Liberals are those who are willing to use government to promote equality but not order. The state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities. Conservatives are those who are willing to use the government to promote order but not equality. Federalist is a system of government in which entities such as states or provinces share power with a national government. The United States government functions according to the principles of federalism. The U.S. political system evolved from the philosophy of federalism. Anti-Federalism was a late-18th-century movement that opposed the creation of a stronger U.S. federal government and which later opposed the ratification of the 1787 Constitution. The previous constitution called the Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, gave state governments more authority. 

Liberals are federalists. They are the ones who are “more tolerant of alternative lifestyles like homosexuality behavior”. They don't shy away from using government threats but they use it to promote equality. They like laws that promote equality for homosexuality housing, jobs, and education. They also promote laws that provide for children's school transportation, and schooling. 

Liberals are encouraging about laws that have the same equality for women, a small minority, less fortunate such as giving them free universal healthcare and the disabled. According to conservatives vs. liberals, people should look to the government to provide structure. A system of equality that looks at everyone the same way. They also think that the government should raise taxes if they need to and people with higher incomes should pay more taxes. 

Conservatives are anti-federalists. They support the original purpose of government which is maintaining social order. They are willing to us the power to keep citizens in order. They support the frim police action and hard punishment for criminals. They tend to want to preserve “traditional patterns of social relations such as the domestic role of women and having religion in schools”.

Conservatives favor free markets and consider government interventions in these markets as the source of all economic instability. They believe that the government should take less of their money and spend less. According to Conservative vs. Liberal 

They believe that gay marriage and abortion should be prevented. But they are for the second amendment which is the right to bear arms and the death penalty for the loathsome crime.

In conclusion, this is how liberals and conservatives are different. Liberals are more concerned about equality and not order because they want to live in a world where everyone is equal. Conservatives want to have ordered because they want everyone to stay in their place.
