Cheerleading isnt a sport that anyone would do because it's not hard or it isn't a real sport. The different jargon in cheerleading is mostly used when we are at practice and talking to each other on what things to do. Cheerleading is hard if you don’t know what you are doing. Cheerleading has different people for each thing to do only if they are good at it. If someone never did cheerleading, you asked them  about different things about cheerleading. They wouldn’t have a clue what you are talking about. To understand cheerleading you would need to learn more about how cheerleading is.

To understand cheerleading jargon you will need to know the main things about it like different bases, stunts, when to jump or stunt and how to hold your motions. To be a cheerleader you need to have a loud bright voice. When cheering you will have a lot of action with the crowds. You will need to have good facial expressions because the crowd will look and tell you you're not having a good time.

First thing about cheer is “hit''. When you become a cheerleader you will do motions everyday to practice. Using the word “hit'' helps you alot with motion especially when you are doing crowd cheers. When practicing it'll be easier to be together with your team and be on the wrong time. Using the word “hit” is just motions, you can use it when you are doing jumps. The count 4 is when you say hit that's when everyone should be in the air hitting the jump. Everyone on the team has to say it or you will have to do it over and over again. Using “hit” in stuntin is really good, especially in pyramids because there is more than one stunt and the backstop will say hit and everyone will know what to hit in the stunt. Using “hit in cheer will help you stay on time doing all of the things in cheer.

When hitting your motion you will use your “doughnut and cinnamon rolls.” When hitting a motion on the floor or in a stunt you will have a certain way to face your arms. Let's use a High-V when you have both arms in the air shapes like a v. You will use your cinnamon rolls which is your thumb is over your hand and your pointer finger is tucked in. Hitting the cinnamon roll is used for specific motions. The doughnut whole is on the other side of your hand. The doughnut wole is used for right/left punch and many others.

A “main base” is the person on the left side and has mostly the stability of the flyer's foot. In stunts the main base always stays with the good of the top girl in the stunt. The main base has to be really stable because  if she starts to shake the flyer will fall. Being a main base you have to get your posture good your back needs to be straight. Legs need to be a squat position but not too far out shoulders, hip and legs need to be all equal.  It's hard to be a base because in any stunts you can get hit in the face or get really hurt by falling.

A “side base” is the person on the opposite side of the main base. The side base helps the main base to get the flyer in the air. Again, with both the main base and side base they have to go at the same time in stunts because the flyer can get seriously hurt. When stunting in a pyramid the main base will have one leg; the side base will help the main base lift the foot up so as not as much weight will be on the main base. The side base is basically a help to the main base.

The next base is called the “backspot.” The backspot is the base in the back of the stunt group. The job of the backspot is to lift up on the flyer's ankles to make it easier on the main and side bases. Being this base you will get hit a lot because sometimes the other bases will throw the flyer backwards or forwards. If that happens you will have to move with the flyer in the air and you will probably get sit on or hit really hard. The backspot always calls what stunt we are doing. For example, the backspot will say cradle one two the main and side will throw her in the air. Then, you will catch her with your arms out between her arms. You always catch her head, neck and back no matter which way she is falling.

A “front hurdler” is a cheer jump which you will do a lot of times. The front hurdler is where you clap right under your chin and you will turn either left or fight, you will swing your arms into a touch down which is you hands are in fist and your arms by your ears. The front hurdler is hard to get because your left leg will be straight up and your right will be bent down. The “side hurdler'' is also a cheer jump and mostly everyone does this one at games. In this jump it depends on which side you are doing left or right. Let's say you are doing the right side, your right  leg will be straight but not in front but beside and your left leg will be bent like a table top. Your arms will be in a “T” which is both arms will be out making the letter T.

Stunting is a big thing about cheer because you are most likely doing this all of the time. “Baskets” are the most fun stunting in cheer. You will have all of the bases including the flyer. The side and main base will connect arms like a puzzle piece. The flyer will have one leg on the base's hand. The backspot will have both hands under the base's hand to left up and get more power into the basket when it's time to throw her in the air. The “frontspot” is a person who helps the stunting group so the stunt can get up or get more power to it. The frontspot will put her hand underneath the backspot hands. When everyone is ready the backspot will call it and everyone will dip on one two then the flyer will be up in a cradle position.

A “full press” is one of the easiest to learn. The full press is where you go up to a half which is where the bases will bring the flyer up where her feet are by their chest. When they get the half down and it's stable, the backspot will call “full one two” then the bases dip together and they will extend their arms out and the flyer is in a tight position then will hit a high v. Everyone in the stunt group will have to be still because if everyone is shaking, there is a chance someone is going to get hurt by the flyer falling.

Cheer is definitely the most fun and dangerous sport to do because in cheer you are lifting a person in the air and you are responsible to keep them safe and not getting hurt. Motions are the hardest things to get down because you have so many cheers to learn. Jumps are easy but hard to get down, especially just learning them. Jumps are supposed to be clean doing the same thing as everyone else. But some people don’t jump the same height but they will all look the same by hitting the right jump. Stunting is the most dangerous thing in cheer. You are lifting up a person in the air with only four people. Stunting is the most fun thing to do in cheerleading because you get to try new stunts and it's exciting to hit the stunt.
