The book 1984 revolves around a totalitarian government where the citizens were gaslighted into obeying its leader, Big Brother. The citizens in the book would believe anything that big brother would tell them without a thought. It even went to the point where they created a thing called newspeak which aimed to narrow the thoughts of the people. The government controlled all the information and was able to change history in the eyes of its people. A republic government isn’t like this but could easily be manipulated and could eventually lead to a 1984 government. To forestall a 1984 government the citizens must be well educated, have better admittance to dependable information with non-biased perceptions, and permit individuals to have their own considerations and opinions about things.

Obviously, without a doubt, a well-educated citizen will be able to make better decisions while being able to spread awareness of a cause. Education can help people stand up against wrong and for right because it allows us to differentiate between what’s right and what’s wrong. Ignorant faith and strange notions halt society. If a person is not well educated they’ll be deluded by deceptions that would cause more damage than good to society. Education assists us with addressing issues, gives us a logical brain, and assists us in dismissing strange superstition.

Surely, with better admittance to dependable information with non-biased perceptions, people can make and form their thoughts about a situation. Which allows them to not be gaslighted or biased by news networks or political leaders. With dependable information, a thing like fake news or fake information is a thing of the past and can allow for people to be able to make informed decisions with correct information.

Without a doubt, if the people do not have the access to their own considerations and opinions about things then education and dependable information doesn’t matter. In a totalitarian government like the one in 1984, the people weren’t able to have thoughts that big brother didn’t approve of. They even created a police force to discover and punish those who had thoughts that big brother didn’t agree with. They even created a new way of speaking called “newspeak” because they wanted to restrict the range of thought and wanted to make dissent impossible because there would be no words in which to express it. So allowing people access to having their own thoughts would greatly reduce the chance of a totalitarian government happening.

Clearly, to forestall a 1984 government the citizens must be well educated, have better admittance to dependable information with non-biased perceptions, and permit individuals to have their own considerations and opinions about things. With the reasons presented a totalitarian government will be unlikely to happen from a republic government. In conclusion, allowing for free thought, educated citizens and dependable information, and better and greater government will become the republic government and eliminate the chances of a 1984 government to happen.
