Introduction

International security alludes to the steps adopted by international agencies, like the United Nations (UN), to secure mutual sustenance and safety (Rosen, 2018). Foreign engagements like multilateral treaties, in addition to military action, fall under the umbrella term measures. Security issues at home and abroad are inextricably intertwined. International security is national security on the international scene. With the conclusion of the Second World War, a new area of scientific discipline, security studies, focused on worldwide security, arose (Rosen, 2018). It originated as an autonomous course of research but was assimilated as a category of foreign affairs. Since it gained root in the 1950s, the field of global security has been at the center of international affairs courses (Ford, 2020). It encompasses subjects such as human security and other disciplines. The definition of security is typically viewed as a rational thinking phrase that may be accepted by unaddressed agreement. However, the substance of global security has increased throughout the years.

International Security

Currently, global security encompasses a number of linked concerns around the globe that influence sustainability. In addition to traditional military force, non-state entities and the origins and repercussions of warfare among states, socioeconomic dominance and ethnic, faith-based, and philosophical disputes, and food security, these issues also threaten human safety and state steadiness (Wiltenburg, 2019). Yet, while the comprehensive view of international security sees everything as a vulnerability, the conventional approach concentrates primarily or solely on military issues.

Conventional international security methods generally concentrate on state agents and their defense capabilities to safeguard state security. Nonetheless, throughout the earlier centuries, the concept of defense has been enlarged to deal with the information age industrialized worldwide society, rapid technological innovations, and dangers resulting from this dynamic (Matisek & Reno, 2019). Instead, there are five aspects to international security: humanitarian, ecological, national, multinational, and cross-cultural. As a result, excellent administration at all tiers is necessary to ensure the safety of all persons, governments, and civilizations in order to accomplish international stability and the confidentiality of any country or heritage."

All of the constructs pertain to a separate set of grounds. The first construct pertains to human security, which considers the fundamental relevant target of the person's safety, not the government. The second factor is ecological security and involves challenges like rising temperatures, climatic change, and the availability of resources (Paterson, 2019). The next component relates to national defense, which is tied to the country's exclusivity over the use of power in a particular region and as a foundation of security that stresses the military and police aspects of security. Multinational dangers such as criminal organizations, terrorism, and people smuggling focus on the fourth basis of the strategy (Johnson, 2017). Ultimately, the coherence of multiple cultures and heritage structures confronts the question of cross-cultural security. With this many-sided security policy, all five security elements should be tackled to offer fair and efficient international security (Firth, 2020). It consequently encourages constructive engagement between governments and comfortable existence among diverse cultures and societies.

Tradition has stated that a realist conception of security has the state as its reference point. During the Cold War, this theory was widely accepted. For over fifty years, major international countries have respected a power dynamic to protect their national security. Thus, international peace was based on the concept that the safety of populations would be guaranteed provided countries preserved their security (Johnson, 2017). As a result of the two great powers' military escalation and the country state's absolute authority, conventional security was based on anarchism, a power equilibrium. The quest for ultimate power was seen as the driving force behind the rationality of nations. During proxy warfare, security was regarded as a defense against invasion and was implemented utilizing military and technology skills (Smith, 2017).

While Cold War tensions subsided, it became apparent that the safety of residents was in danger from both inside the state and outside forces. Violence, sickness, famine, and human rights violations were exacerbated by civil conflicts (Wiltenburg, 2019). Amid public security, conventional security strategies have successfully obscured these fundamental human demands. Despite their best efforts, national governments have been ineffectual in their fundamental goal because they disregard their citizens.

Writers like Hobbes painted a negative image of the consequences of state power in the philosophical argument on accomplishing state security effectively. As a cruel battleground, the global system was seen as a place where nations would fight for their survival at the cost of those around them (Matisek & Reno, 2019). International politics was perceived as a power conflict in which countries vied for resources. Perpetual peace, in this opinion, was not likely to be established. To preclude any one nation from gaining total dominance, all nations had to do was strive to balance the might of their rivals (Rosen, 2018).

Newer methods of security are challenging the classic state-centric model of security. To combat these dangers to human security, there are a number of models that involve collaborative, holistic, and collective actions targeted at protecting individuals and the nation (Paterson, 2019). It is becoming more common for countries to cooperate in order to protect themselves against terrorists and crime syndicates. The Worldwide web and the capacity to immediately send papers, videos, and images across the globe have made it easier than ever for the Interpol global police force to exchange information through national boundaries.

Feminist international relations (IR) hold a lot of discussion on female appearance in global security. The participation of women in international collaboration meetings raises the probability that new issues will be posed that may not have been considered in an otherwise male-dominated context (Wiltenburg, 2019). Feminists in International Relations (IR) are concerned with the question of why the feminine stays subordinate to the masculine in the governmental, social, and economic arenas, as they observe the implications of this metaphysical order both domestically and globally. In light of these considerations, the part of women in ensuring global peace and security is given a new dimension (Ford, 2020).

Conclusion

Despite Clinton, Kerry, and maybe others acknowledging the significance of acknowledging women's part in preserving global security, the reality stands that women are overwhelmingly depicted as casualties instead of as players or leaders. As a result, women in battle zones are more likely to be sexually assaulted, and their family obligations are made more difficult by a lack of resources available to them. While women have not reached equal participation in any state legislature, few nations have legislatures with more than a quarter of women's representation. There are more and more high-profile female political leaders, but they cannot be regarded as symbols that allow everyone else in societal structure the opportunity to tell they have taken care of women in society," even though there are more and more of these women in positions of power throughout the globe. These persistent barriers to female involvement, which are relevant to global security, have been reaffirmed by Clinton's remarks in her remark.
