Being a Muslim, I was instructed that 'Predetermination lies in the palm of our hands.' This implies we can change our fate, as we are its experts. It tends to be changed by how we act (relying upon our promise and deed) and supplication. Allah (God) sends many chances our way daily; regardless of whether to make you more grounded or test your will, there is a justification for all happenings. Let's take my Illness as an example. When I was sixteen, I was struck by an Illness that caused my body to go through many changes, Skin color changes, body substantialness, horrendous torment, expanding, not having the option to walk. The Illness didn't stop me from believing things happen for a reason. If you hold a strong belief in you, no matter what happens to you, that wall you built around you, the idea you firmly have will never go down even if you were struck by an earthquake. It'll never go down.

Sixteen was when my belief was strengthened, where I, who used to be so ignorant to Everything around me, parents, siblings, life… gained a belief that changed my life for the better. A couple of weeks after I turned sixteen, I felt soreness in my arms and legs. I ignored it, thinking it was just minor soreness from playing soccer the other day. However, I was wrong, a couple of days went by, and my state turned from having soreness to having muscle tenderness and swelling and feeling substantially heavy. Then my mom took me to my primary care doctor, and as the doctor saw me, he instantly referred me to a rheumatologist. After being referred to a rheumatologist, it takes their office a week for them to call and schedule an appointment. At that time, I was ultimately not able to walk. I was in a weak condition that it was such a hard time for me just to walk few steps from my room to the bathroom. Therefore, after seeing me not able to lift my neck from the pillow, my mom decided not to wait anymore and go straight to the hospital. At the hospital, I was immediately admitted to a room. An (IV) was inserted into my arm, doctors, nurses coming in and out of my room; it was a mess. At that time, I believed that I was just as good as a dead person because I couldn't lift my head, arms, and legs; I was just a body lying there. I felt like I would lose hope in me surviving, family members calling, crying, praying. Mom and Dad were in bad condition. I also have siblings who were alone at home. After that, I was told that I had to spend a week at the hospital until I'm stable enough to go home. The next day at the hospital, the rheumatologist doctor called Dr. Steven Travis; he's the doctor I was referred to and was supposed to see. Dr. Steven discussed the labs and the diagnoses with my mom and me. He told us the Illness I have is an Auto-Immune Disease called (Dermatomyositis). According to Mayo Clinic, it's an uncommon disease, an inflammatory disease marked by muscle weakness and a distinctive skin rash (Mayo). Usually occurs in the late 40s to early 60s. In children, it most often appears between 5 and 15 years of age (Mayo). At that moment, I recalled something I've always believed that God tests us throughout our lives, and I felt like my faith in God (Allah) is being pushed, so is my belief. Moreover, the Illness that completely flipped my life upside down made me believe that the change I'm undergoing will change me to be a better version of myself. A person who will have compassion for others, a person who will turn from being selfish to being considerate, is who I came to be today. In Addition, my Illness showed me how much my family loves and cares about me and how they sacrificed their time and work to be by my side at the hospital, where I struggled to get back on my feet. After that, I was discharged from the hospital and was able to go home, I hugged my mom and dad and my siblings, but I was still in a state where I couldn't lift a finger.

Despite all the things that happened, I still firmly believe that 'Everything happens for a reason, has slowly become a daily reassurance I give myself when anything goes wrong. It allows me to reflect on all the positives of a situation rather than the negatives. Along these lines, my way of thinking in life is to attempt to give a valiant effort, check 'it' out, whatever 'it is, and pick the way that addresses you the most. Continuously attempt to be your credible self. On the off chance that I go into whatever I am doing, and it doesn't work out, I did as well as can possibly be expected in any event. Then, at that point, on the off chance that it didn't work out, possibly I can pray to God for an answer or leave it with HIM(God). I would like to add one more thing: I'm currently in remission, and I'm at the point when I'm entirely healing. That is all thanks to believing in God, myself, and my family.
