Genocide is the mass killing of many people putting their hatred against there religion, race and ethicity. Some genocides include the dominican republic targeted the haitians, One particular genocide was the Holocaust. As shown by the Holocaust, ordinary people participate in genocide because they are influenced by the leader to commit crimes which leads to the mass killing towards a group.

The Holocaust was when 6 million jews were killed and the murder of the Jewish people were caused by the nazi that ruled germany in which Hilter the leader of the nazi party caused the Holocaust. Hitler ruled germany from 1933 to 1945, at the time was also a leader of the nazi group and wanted to rule the world. After Hitler became leader of Germany in 1933 he turned his hatred for Jews into action.  In 1941 hitler brought all of the Jewish people together and decided to send them to Poland the jews were forced to live in certain parts of the city they’ve called the ghetto. They’ve forced the Jewish people to wear yellow stars and this most likely made them easy targets.

Ordinary people participated in genocide because the people of Germany trusted Hilter and believed that he would fix everything, after WW1 in Germany lasted from 1914 to 1918 Germany lost that war and wanted someone to blame that led to economic struggles. They blame the Jews. Hilter was able to use his anger and convince people to support the nazi group he was in, promised to fix all of the mistakes. Jews were seen as a lower race of people to Hitler.  In 1940 Hilter decided to send his army to acquire more land from Europe and in that year Germany took over Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France.  Americans didn’t help alot during the holocaust at the end of WW2 many americans thought Jews were bad people so the anti-semitism of Jews was growing in the U.S, Most americans wanted to help some Jewish people and some of the american Jews refused to buy resources from germany. American Jews spoke with president Roosevelt about refugees and they convinced the president to allow some Jews into the country. In 1938 Roosevelt scheduled a meeting about the refugee crisis, they called the conference and sent 32 countries.
