In 2020, a long- standing ignorance regarding Police Violence withing the Black community in the United States was broken with the death of George Floyd following the Black Lives Matters Movement. The #BLMM has sparked, among other ideas, awareness that government officials are developed to protect African American rights instead often disregard police violence caused deaths. The Black Lives Matter Movement issued to enforce police violence policies in the African American communities on the basis that police violence is a form of racial discrimination. This issue of police brutality in the community affects mostly African American males and females who have been discriminated against because of their skin color and racial background. African American citizens experience more racial discrimination by police officers than any other white American and have more to lose than any other race dealing with racial discrimination, thus, my research specifically focuses on their rights. While the BLMM has done its part starting the argument, it is important to remember that those African American citizens who protest police brutality are part of of those who have experienced discrimination, many of whom are afraid to speak out on violence from police officers to the public’s eye. It is time to develop more long-term solutions in concert with racial discrimination with the support of government officials. Thus, I propose a solution to ending police brutality and decrease racial discrimination withing the black community.

I argue that the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 may be used to legally protect African American citizens from racial discrimination from police officers an implementing police department changes like them changing their policies, procedures, and practices to prevent future incidents of police misconduct. I reason that Police violence movements and protest have resulted in justice for police brutality victims, proving that the Title VI Civil Rights Act as allows justice to pursue a civil case to any victim of police brutality due to their race, national origin, color or religion. I also reason that implementing new organizations for police officers for them to have more knowledge and be less selfish towards the lives of other’s specifically the lives of people of color. Lastly, I advocate the Title VI Civil Rights act because police brutality is a controversial movement within the Unites States that has been showed all throughout the US. This acts focus will thus serve to decrease future incidents of deaths on color people caused by police officers. Thus, I will first address the importance of the Tittle VI Civil Rights Act, demonstrating that civil rights acts should be implemented to ensure the safety of African American citizens within the Unites States.

I reason that the Title VI Civil Rights act may serve to protect police brutality victims and that legal reform is the step needed to solve this problem based of evidence that government officials have resulted in justice for police violence victims. Ray Rashawn “How Can We Enhance Police Accountability in the United States?’’ describes an instance in which government officials lack the reforming of police violence, coming up with a solution to end police brutality will help people of color live with less fear and freedom.

Organizations withing the police department will help provide a safe and secure way of living for people of color. There are many organization entities, the only downfall is most of these organizations are only implemented to show others how they care about other’s lives and how they want to end racial discrimination. The reality is most of these organizations are only a show and are not really focused on ensuring police officers have the knowledge and are prepared to deal with any case and not involve their own perspectives on race to affect the way they treat citizens while wearing a police officer badge.

Another reason that government officials should implement new reforms to end police violence is due to the number of deaths caused by police officers because officers are so ignorant towards other people’s safety and lives when their skin color and race comes into factor. Implementing new reforms and laws will help decrease the number of deaths because officers will now have more strict rules that they need to follow. Assuming these new reforms are broken a police officer will have the knowledge and be aware of the consequences, which is one of the main reasons police violence needs more awareness due to many police officers not receiving any punishment for their violent acts towards African American citizens in the United States.

In conclusion, I emphasize that organizations specifically to enforce more training on police officers must be implemented to ensure the safety of people of color, because the Title Vi Civil Rights act, serves to give justice to victims affected by police brutality. Regardless of race, etchnicity, nationlal origin, sex and color federal laws, responsibility will always fall to government officials to interpret and enforce those laws.
