We must switch from non-renewable resources to renewable resources, as it is beneficial for the future, and could cause good, and reduce a lot of issues around our home called Earth. I think switching from non-renewable to renewable resources is needed because if we continue to use non-renewable resources, we will eventually run out of these resources. Non-renewable resources can be used for something better. Fossil fuels can cause a couple of issues, but renewable resources will have good benefits and opportunities. First of all, renewable resources will reduce lots of pollution. Human activity is filling up our atmosphere with carbon dioxide and other global warming outflows. Carbon dioxide is a gas we cannot breathe and is produced by burning carbon and organic compounds, It is very popular in the air and is absorbed by many plants.

These gases trap heat, which causes harmful impacts of stronger and more frequent storms, sea level rise, and even possible extinction. In the United States, about 29 percent or pollution is from the electricity sector. Most electricity come from fossil fuels like coal and natural gas. Renewable resources do not release toxins in the air, leaving it to be a much better choice. Secondly, renewable resources will improve public health. Air and water pollution caused by fossil fuels (non-renewable resources) can easily cause breathing problems, neurological damage, heart attacks, cancer, and more. Using renewable energy will reduce the amount of pollution that gets into any substances of either air or water.

Finally, renewable resources will give good job opportunities. Compared with fossil fuel technologies, the renewable energy industry needs a lot of people to work. Solar panels need humans to install them, and wind farms need technicians for maintenance, such as caretaking, and electricians. Increased support for renewable energy could create more jobs. As you can see, renewable resources are very good at sustainability and is typically a better resource that should be used other than non-renewable resources. How are renewable resources used, obtained, and found around the world? First of all, how are they obtained in certain countries? Here I will list 3 different countries. Iceland uses the resources to generate the cleanest electricity per person on Earth. Sweden uses the resources for a good environment. Costa Rica uses the resources to be able to be completely carbon-neutral by the year 2021. Other countries use these resources as well.

Secondly, how do these countries obtain this? Iceland generates renewable energy from power plants like the Blue Lagoon, Sweden use solar power, wind power, energy storage, smart grids, and clean transport, and Costa Rica gets its energy from hydroelectric, geothermal, solar, and wind sources. Where do these countries obtain these resources? Renewable energy is usually obtained from the sun, or heat generated deep down into the Earth. They include energy generated from solar, wind, geothermal, hydropower, and ocean resources, solid biomass, biogas and liquid biofuels. As you can see, these resources are useful and are beneficial for countries around the world. Though, there are some disadvantages of renewable resources as well. Costs and prices. Costs for setting up renewable energy plants are quite expensive. Renewable energy like solar and wind need large spaces of land in order to produce energy, which can be hard to find. The technologies are more expensive than traditional energy generators. There are storage capabilities as well. Even though renewable energy resources are available all over the world, many of these resources are not always available all year round.

There can be unpredictable weather events that can badly affect these technologies. There is also a limited amount of power. Even though these resources are very good, they are also affected by the weather. Wind turbines only rotate if there is enough wind, and solar panels do not operate during night time, and are not that good on cloudy days, reducing their reliability. Renewable resources have disadvantages, but it has more benefits than drawbacks. When it comes to renewable energy, the positives outweigh the negatives. As you can see, switching to renewable resources if very important in my opinion. Not everything will be perfect, as there are downsides to it as well, but there are more goods and bads compared to non-renewable resources. But who would care?  I think the government would care a lot about this since this is a good way to save up money and energy. Environmentalists would care about this a lot, as it would reduce pollution and fossil fuels. Switching from non-renewable to renewable resources is very important.
