Edward Teller quotes, “The science of today is the technology of tomorrow.” Technology is everywhere, it doesn't have to be electrical. It could be a thought, idea, belief, invention, or anything. We use technology to help us learn about our past and if we tried to get rid of technology, then we would be brought back in time when there were philosophers. And how others were executed for having other beliefs. And if they were to have different views, then they were called crazy. I believe that technology is beneficial to us for medical reasons, inventions, and learning and sharing information.

One of the main reason why technology is beneficial, are medical improvements. Technology has allowed new medicine, techniques, methods, and treatments. Currently, hospitals use MRI scans, CT scans, and X-rays. With doctors using these machines on patients, they will have a better chance of discovering the patients’ problem. And with many diseases, infections, and complications, the quicker they find the complication, the more chance you have to annihilate the problem. From 5 Life-Saving Medical Devices, “The medical device known as an MRI machine is so named for magnetic resonance imaging, a technique that uses a magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed images of the organs and tissues within your body…”

There are other ways technology helps people with medical problems. Like 3D printing organs, so people don't have to wait for an organ donor. This helps save multiple lives of patients who don't have enough time to wait for an organ. Akshay Gordita states, The most reliable 3D printing organs for transplant are kidney, liver, heart, cornea, and bones. Therefore, a person with heart disease could have a transplant with a 3D printed heart. And while waiting for an organ donor, they would need to have the same blood type as you. If not, you wouldn't be able to have the organ transplant. But, a 3D printed heart would be compatible with any blood type.

Another reason is the benefits of bionic limbs. This is a new invention, to help people who are disabled. They allow patients who have amputated limbs to be able to use them again. In Insane and Exciting Future of The Bionic Body, “Rich Walker, the managing director of the project, says his team was able to rebuild more than 50 percent of the human body.” This states, that most body parts are able to be replaced with a bionic limb. This helps patients because bones and nerves cannot be replaced. So, someone who has a wounded leg, and uses a wheelchair, could replace their legs with bionic legs and be able to walk again. Bionic legs, connect to the patient’s live nerves and allow the patient to control the robot, like a normal leg. Therefore, a bionic limb will allow people with disabilities to have the same choices and experiences as others. The bionic leg will be able to accomplish and achieve the same actions as a normal or regular limb. However, medical improvement is not the only element that shows why technology is beneficial.

There are plenty of machines that are created by technology that help people with everyday life. There are many inventions that help humans to make life easier. There are many inventions that help, that help make life easier for people. Without technology, nothing would be changed or created. For example, the wheel was created in 3500 B.C. It was created by the Mesopotamians, but we wouldn't have known that without the help of technology. However, the wheel was not created for the purpose of transportation, but for the purpose of a potter’s wheel. Over the years, it has been changed to help people with their problems. In 10 Inventions that Changed the World states, “The wheel made the transportation of goods much faster and more efficient, especially when affixed to horse-drawn chariots and carts.” This shows, that the wheel has gone from something that barely anyone used, to everyone operating them.

An invention that gave us the freedom to travel is an aircraft. The only people who were able to succeed at that moment were the Wright brothers. The first flying airplane was on December 17, 1903. It had taken them 4 tries, but they had finally succeeded. From 30 Big Machines That Changed The World, “It was the Wright Flyer that gave humans total mastery of planet Earth—by land, sea, and air.” Inventions helped us back then, but with technology is also beneficial for future generations.

The last reason why technology is beneficial is being capable of learning and sharing information. Communication allows people to talk to each other without having to be in the same place. Some people have friends who live on the other side of the world. So, with communication, you are able to talk to them as if they were right in front of you. With cell phones, you are able to communicate and search for information. From 10 Inventions That Changed the World, it shows “Worried parents can give a cell phone to their child and ensure they can always reach him...” This states, that parents can be ensured that their child is safe and protected. Parents are able to put trackers on their child's phone, so in emergencies, they will be able to go to their child’s location.

Another reason is the printing press. The printing press was invented in 1440 and 1450 B.C by Johannes Gutenberg. The printing press allows an enormous quantity of information to be released and spread around the world. Ed Grabianowski states, “The diffusion of knowledge it created gave billions of humans the education they needed to create their own inventions in the centuries since.” Therefore, he showed others how to share information quickly and in large amounts. This allows people to transfer information and share data with others.

Others may say that technology is harmful to someone's health. Social media, for example,  may cause health problems, such as lowering someone's self-esteem. By the negative vibes, quotes, images, and comments. But, others may hide behind their weaknesses and pretend to be okay on social media. In Social Media and Self Doubt, “For kids experiencing anxiety or depression, carefully edited feeds…..masking serious issues behind pretend perfection and making it harder for parents or friends to see that they need help.” However, the reason that social media was created, was for the purpose to lift someone’s spirit with encouraging words and images. Diana Vilibert says, “Each positive post spreads another 1.75 positive posts, whereas each negative one only led to an extra 1.29 negative posts.” What she is trying to show is that with social media a positive post will expand at a much quicker pace, than a negative post. So, when you are on social media you would most likely see positive and inspiring posts. It all depends if you use social media how it is actually made to be used as.

Technology has changed the life span of every human. It is everywhere and allows people to believe what they want and do anything they desire. As a result, one day it may become the most common thing used. Technology is here to stay, so you might as well take advantage of it.  Thus, I have confidence that technology is only beneficial due to medical improvements that save multiple lives, inventions that have changed the future, and technology that allows people to communicate and learn new and interesting things.
