Introduction- People should buy ethical products based on principles of fair trade as it will help people live better with the quality of life, as well as that sustainability development would be able to be achieved. Fair trade is to help farmers and producers to help the growing countries to achieve the level of sustainability as desired and equitable trade relationships. The principles of fair trade include Long-Term Direct Trading Relationships, Payment of Fair Prices, No Child, Forced or Otherwise Exploited Labor, Workplace Non-Discrimination, Gender Equity, and Freedom of Association, Democratic & Transparent Organizations, Safe Working Conditions & Reasonable Work Hours, Investment in Community Development Projects, Environmental Sustainability and Traceability and Transparency.
Sustainability development is a way to make a good environment and help food products to be ethically produced. As Environmental Sustainability is one of the ten principles of fair trade it is important to take account of the hard work done by fair trade labels. Ethically produced food can be useful to avoid air pollution and care for the environment by maximising use of sustainable energy and raw materials while minimising waste and pollution. There is a huge variety of food labels which help with sustainability and ethical production which include Palm- oil free, Vegan, Organic and free range, MSC fish and most importantly Fair trade. When buying items, if any of the listed labels shown the consumer can be shown supporting the label by helping with sustainability and ethical production. Agriculture is responsible for 26 percent of the world's glasshouse gas emissions, 50 percent of the world's liveable land, 70 percent of worldwide freshwater withdrawals, 78 percent of ocean and freshwater pollution, and 94 percent of global mammalian biomass (excluding humans). Sustainability is an important part of the world and by supporting the labels such as Fair Trade and the principles of fair trade it can help make the environment a better place.

Fairtrade International's fair trade system benefited over 1.2 million farmers and workers in over 60 countries in 2011, with €65 million in fairtrade premiums provided to producers for use in strengthening their communities. Fair trade is helping a bunch of towns and countries to help sustain the environment and help the poor, make food better quality and deals which farmers can approve and support.
To conclude, Fair trade can come to help farmers who don’t have a bunch of money but can still help the people by providing ethic food with decent prices. Moreover, with decent prices the farmers can help sustain the environment and have more control over their lives. There are more advantages but with buying ethical food, it can help a bunch of people and the principles of fair trade. The UK have one of the highest number of fair trade towns and uses in the world.
