Failure Essay Example: Building Blocks to Success
Failure? Not a word you'd like to associate yourself with right? Quite normal, I mean who would want to be a failure or even face the tiniest bit of failure because that would just mean we failed or weren't successful at something. But if you can't associate yourself with failure then how will you ever be able to associate yourself with success? Afterall, failure plays the most important and crucial role on one's path to success. In other words, without failure there is no success, if you want to succeed you've got to fail.
Failure is the first step towards success. You won't always get everything right or according to you on the first try. There will be times when you will fail and these failures will teach you things that will help you on your path to success. Nobody is born smart or successful, you will face many failures before you reach success. Micheal Jordan, Leo Messi, Albert Einstein, and so many other successful people were not "overnight successes" infact they have years of failure, determination to succeed, and hardwork behind them that make them who they are today. If J.K. Rowling had given up after 12 publishers had rejected her book then we wouldn't have the Harry Potter books or even movies, what if Walt Disney had given up after he was turned down 302 times then we wouldn't have the amazing Walt Disney World. Heck we wouldn't even have KFC chicken if its founder Colonel Sanders had given up after his recipe was rejected 1009 times. (Courtesy : Google)
Everyone wants to be successful but no one wants to fail. You can't have a rainbow without a little rain. Failure is considered a bad thing, something you should stay safe of, when in reality it's the foundation on which success is built. Success is the result of lessons learnt from failures and bad experiences in life. These bad experiences and failures make us stronger, wiser and confident. A success story without any hurdles, obstacles or failures is like a movie without a climax; boring. Just how we having steps for cooking we have tseps to success and one of the steps is fail, fail again and keep on failing until you succeed. Sometimes we fail and fall so hard that it feels like everything's over, it's the end but it's not. Just like how Colin Powell, the 65th United States Secretary of States, says, "There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hardwork, and lessons learnt from failure." It's in the simplest of words, failure along with hardwork and preparation add up to success.
Whenever you feel like giving up because you failed always remember why you started in the first place. If you can't go a day without thinking about your goal then dont give up because of a minor failure. You will fail someday or the other, you will feel like giving up probably even start thinking that you were stupid to believe that you could achieve whatever it is that you wanted, and when you do feel like this remember that,"The darkest hour is just before the dawn"(Proverb).
A new day, a new chance and do not be afraid to take risks, give things a shot, even to fail again because failing means trying and trying is better than not doing anything at all. One day, when you are successful and satisfied with your life, all these failures will make sense. Like, Henry Ford, the founder of Ford Motor Company said, "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." What he means is that when we face failure we learn things, things not to do next time and now when we start again we aren't starting from scratch but from experience. We have an idea about the things we shouldn't do to reach our goal and ultimately success.
Failure doesn't always have to be considered bad because half the time its teaching us things that no one taught us. Failure is the best teacher anyone could have. Once you reach success, you will appreciate everything and be humble because failure has taught you that if failure isn't permanent then nor is success. No failure means no success and its as simple as that.We as a society, need to acknowledge our failures and not blame others. We as an individual, need to be strong enough to face failure and get back up and fail again if we have to but not give up until we succeed and reach our goal. Society is us, which mean we as indviduals need to understand that everyone has different things they consider themselve to be a failure at, we need to stop judging, discouraging and laughing at people when they fail. If we want to succeed, we need to embrace failure and keep on going until we reach our destination; our goal. If you can dream it, you can do it!
