Was Brutus an Honest man? Was Brutus right-minded? Was Brutus an Honorable man? In William Shakespeare’s Historical fiction The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. It’s about a man named Caesar that was known as a god and leader of Rome, from Jealous the life doesn’t go well, from Brutus planning a assassination of Julius Caesar, is Brutus being a loyal and honorable man, planning a scheme against Caesar.The truth of the matter is, If Brutus really being an honorable man? Or just really making Rome a better place, and free. One way that Shakespeare shows that Brutus is not an honorable man is through Brutus being apart of the assassination of Julius Caesar. For example, when Brutus is thinking of what to do for the assassination “ I do not like the Idea of Caesar being king, yet I do love Caesar well. But Caesar, why do you hold me here so long? What is it you wish to tell me”... (Shakespeare- #141). In this moment

This proves that Brutus killed Caesar because of jealous, not to make Rome better or more free, just to be the next leader of Rome. Overall,  This quote another reason that Brutus is an honorable man,  showing that he cares just about himself and doesn’t matter to him, what he has to do. Another way that it shows that Brutus is not an honorable man is from this quote, “ I do not like the Idea of Caesar being king, yet I do love Caesar well. But Caesar, why do you hold me here so long? What is it you wish to tell me”... (Shakespeare- #141). This shows that Brutus is jealous that Caesar is king and that Caesar’s weak and is like every person in Rome, they saved Caesar and they got nothing from that. This is why Brutus is jealous that Caesar’s king and that he killed his friend not to make Rome better, but to be a leader. Some may argue that Brutus is an Honorable man because he was loyal to Rome, and he cares about Rome.

They believe that Brutus killed Caesar for Rome and trying to make Rome better.

For example, Brutus talks about killing Caesar and about how Rome will be free with no Caesar and playing the victim saying he should die (even if he deserves it). Even though Brutus is loyal to Rome, he betrayed his friend by killing him and making things up saying it’s for the good for  Rome, also citizens not knowing that he Betrayed Caesar because of jealous and even if Caesar was weak, and should have not been a leader of Rome,  there is no excuse to not be loyal to a friend. For example, Brutus plans a scheme to kill Caesar, Brutus stating before killing Caesar “Let us be sacrificers and not butchers. Let us kill Caesar boldly, but not wrathfully. Let us do all this so that in our hearts we are purgers and not murderer”... (Shakespeare #144). At this moment Brutus is saying that they don’t want to be known has murderers, but purgers. This statement could mean that they don’t think Caesar is better than them, or Undesirable.  

This illustrates knowing that Brutus is planning to kill Caesar, he ’s making it sound like their killing Caesar with Respect, but they do want to kill him, a friend of Brutus. Is that loyal? Overall, Brutus doesn’t state nothing about saving Rome and what’s he going to change when Caesar has died.
