Diesel as it turns out is a fuel just like gas but if you put it in gas engines your engines will explode (thanks goodness you didn’t put it in). Diesel needs its own special engine to work and you can’t just remove yours and put in a diesel one you got to buy a new car that runs on diesel (good excuse for a new car). But wait, why would you even want to buy a diesel one isn’t gas better? No, there both good in their own things, but diesel is good at more things that gas is. These are the main advantages and disadvantages of diesel

*Power

Diesel engines are in all of the heavy-duty trucks, container ships, and trains, used for towing the biggest loads and dealing out the most power, but diesels aren’t really known for their horsepower, but they are known for the massive amount of torque they can provide, which is by far better than what a similarly sized gasoline engine can muster. And this is what wpowerproducts.com describes Torque as “Torque is what gives them the oomph needed to get up to speed and get work done at low power, making them great at towing and accelerating quickly out of the gate.”

*Noise/Pollution

Most people think the diesel engines are Noisy and that they Pollute the earth, and there right, or the would be if they were saying it 40 years ago. In the day and age diesel engines are just as clean and quite as any gas engine.

*Cost

The cost is only big con with diesel, the up-front cost of the vehicle will general be a little bit more than gas and the costs of repair are a little more as well but the repairs will last longer so you don’t have to repair your car as often. Also, one thing to note is that although gas is cheaper than diesel, diesel lasts longer and burns slower, plus diesel doesn’t go bad very fast so you can buy when its long and then store it up for when the prices are high.

*Durable

Another fact to consider is that diesel engines are as hardy as they come. And as wpowerproducts.com says “This is one of the primary reasons so many backup generator owners opt for diesel-powered units: diesel engines are about as dependable as it gets. Because they have to be able to withstand the higher compression during operation, diesel engines are typically built to be more rugged, which can lend them longer lifetimes than other engines.” And because of their durability and their power they have a great resale value.
