Capitalists between 1875-1900 had good qualities and bad qualities. They could be categorized as Robber Barons, someone who became rich through ruthless practices, or Captains of Industry, someone who puts their money toward there country in a positive way.
Capitalists can be described as Robber Barons for allowing wealthy people to get wealthier and poorer to become more dependent, child labor, and the trust did not treat people well.
Robber Barons allowed wealthy people to keep getting wealthier ,leaving te poor to depend on them to get basic needs fulfilled.The differences between the wealthy and poor are becoming more prominent. “The gulf between the employed and the employer mis growing wider…”. (George 1879) . Robber barons are allowing the space between wealthy and poor grow wider. The poor are being more dependent and social class is become stronger.
Capitalists allowed child labor to take place. children were forced to work in factories and mills. In the Breaker Boys at Woodward Coal Mining, 10 younger boys are standing outside with dirty faces and uniforms. This was really bad for children. Kids are getting worn from working and sick from smoke and chemicals. Working in coal factories wasn't good for anyone to be working in, let alone kids. The trust, an organized commerce, made people's everyday lives harder. “ the main weapons of the trust are threats, intimidation, bribery, fraud, wreck, and pillage (weaver 1892).” This made capitalists look bad. The trust forced many workers to lose their jobs and have to suffer the consequences. The trust controls things, people need in their everyday lives. They caused people to lose their jobs.

Wealthy and poor should have equal chances and privileges. Children shouldn't be forced to work. The trust used aggression and mess up some people's lives.
